Esmeralda Ybarra Hetrick
Eszi is a former Leadership
Harrisburg Area - LHA graduate and was recognized as a Women of Excellence in
2005. In addition to her job as a client manager at Highmark Blue Shield, and
her many community initiatives; she is also completing her MBA at Eastern
University. Esmeralda was recognized on the front cover of the January 2006
edition of Harrisburg Magazine as one of Harrisburg’s Movers and Shapers. She
loves singing, public speaking, working with students and spending time with
family.

Marizol Jimenez-Fotopoulos
A previous scholarship
recipient, Marisol brings energy, enthusiasm, and commitment to Estamos Unidos.
As secretary and coordinator to our colleges and universities, Marisol is our
liaison to our future graduates and community leaders. A graduate of HACC-
Gettysburg, PA, Marisol’s goal is to obtain a professional position in the field
of Human Services and assisting bilingual individuals.

Treasurer
George Nahodil
– Scholarship Fund-raiser committee
George Nahodil is an active
member of Estamos Unidos, and helped to organize the first EUP Scholarships
Fundraiser Dinner at the Wydham Garden Hotel that was held in June of 2007. All
proceeds from this event went directly to the Estamos Unidos Scholarship Fund to
deliver scholarships for talented Latino students. This committee was lead by
George Nahodil and was assisted by George Fernandez, Scholarships Fundraiser
Dinner Coordinator. George Nahodil is currently the Executive Vice
President of Retail Delivery, Marketing and Public Relations at Members 1st
Federal Credit Union. He has several years of service for Estamos Unidos de
Pennsylvania. Members 1st Federal Credit Union has been very involved in the
Education Committee and the Annual Children’s Christmas Party during 2006 and
2007.

Dr. Winnie Black

Membership and Volunteer development
Winnie Black was born and
raised in Washington DC where she worked from age 11 in the arts for the YMCA
and Montgomery County Recreation. Dr. She raised her two children as a single
parent while earning three degrees. Dr. Black has earned degrees with honors in
Art History, Dance, Finance, and Educational Leadership/Administration. She has
written over 25 successful grants to benefit her community. Dr. Black has served
on boards for such lustrous groups as Girl Scouts of Mitten Bay, Arizona Rural
Health Association, Hispanic Veterans of American, Leadership Flint, and the
Resource Center. Dr. Black has spent over 15 years as a Rotarian and Optimist
Club member. She has received numerous awards for her volunteerism and service
to her community. She would like to improve her ability to speak Spanish. When
she is not volunteering or working as the Vice President for Student Affairs and
Enrollment Management at Harrisburg Area Community College, she is doing
mosaics, gardening, hooking rugs, and cooking.

Yolanda Perez-Rivera M.Ed.-Professor/Counseling HACC – Education
Born and brought up in
Puerto Rico. Moved to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania July 1986 where she had been
hired at Harrisburg Area Community College. Yolanda holds a Bachelor Degree in
Secondary Education and a Master in Counseling. In her tenure at HACC Yolanda
has worked extensively with multi-ethnic, multi- cultural, multi-lingual
students. Yolanda has been involved in volunteer work in particular: Board
Member at the Mount Pleasant Hispanic American Center, Board Member Women League
of Harrisburg, Member task Force for MH/MR of Dauphin County, One of the
founding organizers of Friends of ASPIRA-Harrisburg, Member of the Harrisburg
Rape/Sexual Violence Prevention Committee, Founding Member of Latino Community
Messiah College Partnership, Founder organizer of the Pennsylvania Statewide
Latino Coalition Conference and Board Member of the Pennsylvania Family Support
Alliance.

Graham Hetrick - Counsel
Dauphin County Coroner, Estamos Unidos Advisory Board Graham,
who is highly qualified by education and experience, graduated form Susquehanna Township High School. He served in the United States Army as a Provost Marshall
Investigator. After his service, he attended York College and double majored in
German and History. He graduated with honors and then attended Messiah College
where he worked toward his teacher certification.

Manuel Valentin - Counsel
Senior Manager, The Center for Applied Management
Practices, Inc. Over 25 years of experience in the health and human services
field including technical assistance and training to community based
organizations, management consulting, curriculum development for evaluation,
outcome training, policy and program development, administration, planning,
research and demonstration, evaluation, grantsmanship, information technology,
and management information system design. Mr. Valentin was a consultant for
political lobbying projects in Central and South America, Europe and the Middle
East in affiliation with United States Government contacts where he conducted
extensive public relations activities in multi-language facets via newspapers,
television, radio, and focus groups.

Edward Lanza - Legal Counsel
Ed Lanza is an attorney with Saul Ewing, LLP in Harrisburg, PA,
where he specializes is public utility and energy law. He holds a Bachelor of
Arts degree in Political Science from Messiah College and a Juris Doctor degree
from Pennsylvania State University’s Dickinson School of Law. In addition to
serving as an advisor to Estamos Unidos, Mr. Lanza is a Director of the Hispanic
Chamber of Commerce of Central Pennsylvania and a member of the Hispanic
National Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Hispanic Bar Association.

Hector Richie Ortiz
- Counsels
Active Counsel and Past President and Chartered Member of Estamos Unidos de PA
Hector is a Community Liaison and Contract Manager in Dauphin County, office of
Human Services. He is a Leadership Harrisburg Area graduate, class 2005, and was
recognized as one of the LHA 20 Leaders/20 Years in 2006. Hector is also a
member and currently President of the Rotary Harrisburg Keystone, member of the
Harrisburg Young Professionals, co-founder and treasurer of the Latino Hispanic
Professional Association, member of the Dauphin County Cultural Diversity
Celebration Task Force, chair of the Dauphin County Diversity Advisory Panel and
an active leader in the community.
